The Realistic African Safari and what you can expect. Part 1

Planning an African Safari Holiday? It is important to be realistic as to what to expect.

In this Blog we will unpack what you can expect and how to optimize your holiday to reach your expectations. We hope that you will share your experiences with us as we journey through this multi part process which we will publish on a daily basis until we have covered as much of what you will need to know to boost your Safari Experiences:

Will I see Lions around every corner?

No, you will not but if you plan carefully, you might see the Big 5 over a period of a few days. Sunset Lodge & Safaris is situated almost halfway up along the Western Border of the Famous Kruger National Park. Here we offer different packages to enable our guests to reach their expectations with the days they have available to get to know the animals of the African Savannah. South Africa is a developed country, much like other places on the planet there are cities, airports, highways etc but we have one of the last bastions of the Natural World on our Doorstep, The Kruger National Park.

How do I make the most of my stay Close to The Kruger National Park?

That is not an easy question to answer as it will be different for each traveller. The answer lies in how many days you have available, are you looking for Adrenaline Pumping Action or can you accept that Nature will dish up what nature has decided to show you, another big factor is whether you are travelling with kids or not. During drives in the Kruger kids can become very bored as there are long moments when you might not spot a single thing. It is for these situations that staying at a lodge close to a Kruger Park Gate might be the answer for your Family Safari Holiday. At a Lodge there might be more for the kids to stay entertained with and for you to have enjoy nature at her prettiest best.

What is for sure is that you will learn something about nature and the Animal Kingdom every day. Sometimes on foot and other times on a game drive. Staying at Sunset Lodge and Safaris means there might be something to see as you step out of your room. The only thing that is for sure is that you have to get out of bed early to see experience the African Bush. Once again travelling with children might mean that you have to plan your short trips to the bush a bit more carefully, we will gladly help with the planning all you have to do is reach out to us.

If you stay at our lodge for a couple of days, then you can explore the Kruger and return to your lodge. You can stay over in the Kruger for a few days and move between camps but leave most of your luggage at Sunset. This way you will get the most out of your Kruger Stay without the effort. We will gladly keep your belongings in safe storage while you explore the Kruger National Park from South to North. Simply get in touch and let us start the planning together.

Things to remember!
